The never ending era of automation introduces a completely autonomous line follower event. Autonomous machines are the systems that are free from fatigue, and that can adapt, learn from their experience and can make decisions.
In this new age of automation here comes an event which will test your robots unmanned skills. Bring out the finesse in you to make your robot follow the path.
Problem statement: Design an autonomous black line following robot which would traverse the given path in least possible time.

  1. The bot has to follow the line and complete the track in least possible time.
  2. The participants will get 3 tries to complete the track.
  3. They can modify their bots after 1st or 2nd try if not successful in 1st try. There would be a time penalty for every unsuccessful try.
  4. Participants are not allowed to touch their robots once the game starts.
  5. The team completing the Elimination Round will be eligible for certificate of participation.
  6. If the machine remains immobile for respectable time then on the spot decision will be taken by the Core Committee.
  7. The decision of the judges shall be considered as final and indisputable.
  8. Any team involved in any type of argument with the judges will be disqualified
  9. The judges reserve the rights to disqualify any team indulging in any kind of misbehavior.
  10. The Core Committee has the right to change any of the rules at any time. The changes will be highlighted on website and conveyed to registered participants well in advance

NOTE:Rules are subject to last minute change. Contact corresponding coordinator(s) for further inquiries. Final Decision lies in hands of Coordinators and Judges. Participants have to abide the decision in all cases.
  1. The bot must be strictly autonomous.
  2. Dimensions of the bot should be less than 20cm*20cm*20cm (l x b x h).
  3. The bot must pass through all the deviations that come in its way.
  4. A power supply should be of maximum 36V.
  5. If any bot is out of the track for 30secs it is considered as disqualified.
  6. The participants have to ensure that room lighting, photography, etc. does not affect the functioning of the sensors.
  7. Bot should not touch the wall, there are negative points in the case if bot touches the wall.
  8. If a bot touches the wall for more than 15 second then that bot will be immediately disqualified from the round.
  9. In case of tie, the design of the bot may be considered.
  10. If none of the bots finishes the course, then the one which covered the longest distance will be considered the winner.

  12. A team should consist of maximum 3 members

Tentative Path

  • Elimination round

    Description: Here the track will be a spiral with black path.Complete the track as fast as possible.

  • Qualifying round

    Description: Here the participants will be given a clue over the track. The track will be a small maze.

  • Finals

    Description: This round is a complete maze. The robot has to solve the maze as fast as possible.
